North Dakotans ordered 5.4 ounces of hot sauce per customer, the most of any state while Hawaiians ordered 1.3 ounces per customer, the least of any state.
A whopping 74% of Americans eat their meal with hot sauce, according to a recent Instacart poll survey. 67% say they are passionate about their favorite brand.
Instacart.com conducted a survey for National Hot Sauce Day approaching on January 22 to know America’s hot sauce preferences, including how often they dabbled and what brand they preferred.

Sriracha Sauce from Huy Fong Foods tops the list and is the most popular hot sauce in 31 states. Frank’s RedHot is on #2 sauces sold via Instacart.
Instacart customers purchased 444,854 gallons of hot sauce in just 12 months between December 2020 and November 2021, which would roughly fill up 18,536 kiddie pools.
North Dakota customers bought more hot sauce (5.4 ounces/customer), followed by New Mexico customers who consumed 4.4 ounces/customer.
